MY MOM AND DAD - When I was 2 ½, I watched my dad attempt to strangle my mom. This was just one of many incidents of chaos in my home growing up, but that scene as a tiny boy stands out vividly. When I was 11, I learned my Dad committed adultery. My parents divorced, remarried one another, and then separated again. (Love & Respect in the Family, pages 9-11). Ephesians 4:26 says, "Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger". This verse is part of a passage in the Bible that explains how to live a Christian life. Here are some things that this verse means:
* Deal with anger quickly. Anger can be a helpful emotion, but it must be handled carefully and quickly to avoid leading to sin
* Don't let anger go unnoticed. "Don't let the sun go down on your anger" means don't let your anger go unnoticed or uncontemplated
* Process your anger. You should process through your anger and hold onto what is good and let go of what isn't
* Check yourself. Every time you are mad, you should check yourself to see if you are upset at the things God hates
* Don't give the devil a foothold. If you let your anger go unnoticed or uncontemplated, you are giving the devil an opportunity
Scenario: One morning you both woke up in love - During that morning something happened between the both of you - One of you or both of you had an un-met expectation - Both of you then stayed angry through-out the remaining day - Now it's the end of the day and time for bed - Before laying your head on your pillows, ask yourselves this > "is it better to go to bed and still remain in anger or to still be in love" ???
